Young McGonagall

I think he would have been the funny, but relatively pensive guy.  That tall lanky guy we all know.

That sounds about right.

I'm thinking of doing a younger version of Dumbledore. What do you think?

Sorry for replying late. Was out of town. I think young!Dumbledore would be interesting. But Albus is a rather uninteresting name for a teenager to have, what? Do you think Albus would have been a popular guy or more silent guy? I think his attitude on life (related to the above question) would affect how he looks in the picture.

I absolutely love this!  She looks like she will one day grow up to be the McGonagall we all know and love (well, some of us).  It seems to me that her right eye is slightly more to the center than the left eye is, but that is the only real criticism I have of this piece.

Yes, I agree. But normally brilliant women like that have a very passionate side to them as well. She was intended to be looking at someone not something. But I will leave it to your own interpretation.

Well, actually that's a happy news for me: "normally brilliant women like that have a very passionate side". But somehow, just somehow, it didn't strike me that she was looking at a someone. Just something that captured her attention a lot.

Wow. I never pictured the teachers in their younger years, but I think this is definitely what McGonagal would have looked like--you can tell she's sharp and strict, but there's a certain youthful quality and feminity about her. Wonderful job.

Thanks. The hat was probably the most difficult part of it for me to do.

Wow!  That's really well done... and it even fits with what I think she would look like...

Lovely take on young Minerva! Who is she looking at so intently? ;)

Don't we all want to know?

I say it's not "who" so much as a shipment of old rare books arriving at the Hogwarts library... Minerva would have been in her own way a Hermione.

Nice. Very pedantic look on McGonagall. What age is she supposed to be?

That's beautiful.  She looks shy and a little unsure.  I really like this picture - I keep staring at it!

Thankyou so much! It was very interesting to try and make someone younger. I had never tried that before.
