What a whimsical drawing.

Harry and Ginny enjoying a quiet moment.

I love how relaxed you made Harry. While he is with Ginny, there are no worries on his mind. You can tell by the way he gazes up at her.

The tender way Ginny strokes his hair near is scar is telling. She is soothing him.

Lovely!

The colours are lovely - it makes me feel happier just looking at it!  And I love the water; the sparkles look awesome and is that the reflection of the sun I can see? Harry looks very...relaxed, lol. And a little disheveled there.  It's much sweeter than when Draco and Pansy were pulling the same pose in HBP! I think you've captured him really, really well - the slightly knobbly ankles (and probably knees, hee) do make him look like what he is - a gangly teenage boy who's grown taller really fast, while still being a bit skinny! Love Ginny's hair.

Whether this is James and Lily or Ginny and Harry, I can't really tell, but you've done a supurb job of composing this picture.  I'd love to be Harry/James at this moment: he looks so relaxed, as if the only important thing in his life is the attention he's receiving from the loving caress from Ginny/Lily.  The background is beautifully wrought with the sun sparkles glistening on the water.  Thanks for sharing this moment with us.

Thanks so much for the kind comment.  It's supposed to be Harry and Ginny, but Harry's eyes and scar seem to have disappeared somehow...

This is an amazing piece of art, Erica!

How did you do the lake? I never manage to paint water to be so realistic! Tell me your secret!

Thanks, Agi!  For the water, I created a custom brush with two spikes going horizontally (I don't know what this translates to in Photoshop) and dragged it vertically over the area using different sizes, spacings, and values to create the ripple effect.  The little "sparkles" were made with a small four-spiked brush.  It's sort of hard to explain, but it's quite easy and I was really surprised at how well it turned out.  Experimenting with brushes is definitely a worthy exercise!
