| Sunday 2nd October 2005 11:40 | Fawkes in flight | Aww, beautiful! you are very talented! I love the colour in his wings. What did you use for the texture?

Texture? Do you mean the feathers? Like I told Agi, it's a photomanip :) Aside from a few drawn details, it's all photos with the colours altered, except for the drawn details on the head. I altered the colours with the hue function and erased away bits I didn't want. It took a *lot* of layers in Photoshop to do all that -- something like six or seven on the phoenix alone, and another ten or so on the clouds. :) Oh, and the neck is compiled of three or four "pieces" of a flamingo's neck, to make it curved (it was straight before), while the wings are actualy the same wing mirrored.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
| Sunday 2nd October 2005 03:30 | Fawkes in flight | wow.. almost looks biblical.. the colours are amazing! | Saturday 1st October 2005 12:43 | Fawkes in flight | A photomanip? You really should have mentioned that in the artist comments, because normally we aren't accepting photomanips. Especially when those are from the HP movies. Since this one isn't from the movies, I won't be deleting it, but please remember not to submit more manips in the future. | Saturday 1st October 2005 12:43 | Author Response | Oh! I guess I misunderstood that -- I thought that was only in regards to using photos from the movies because the manipulator doesn't own the rights to the photos. The photos are mine, I took them, so the work is still 100% mine And I manipped them so much they don't look a thing like the original photos, heh, so I tend not to even think of it as a manip. Sorry about that, I'll bear that in mind for the future! | Saturday 1st October 2005 07:32 | Fawkes in flight | Beautiful colouring! I love the clouds, his feathers (they look REAL!) and those funny golden things around his head. Wonderful job! | Saturday 1st October 2005 07:32 | Author Response | Och, I should have mentioned in the original description (I've edited it now): it's a photomanip mostly (save for the details drawn on the head), so the feathers are real -- just colour-adjusted. I'm not that good, heh! |
