wow!!! This was an awesome story!!!!
I always wondered why petunia acted so badly towards harry but it does make sense that she lost all of her family and normalcy due to teh magical world...

WOW!!! That was amazing!!! I guess Petunia wanted harry to realize why she was so upset and to be able to have something from his mom and dad :

That was really sweet. It was an interesting idea too. I loved seeing how Petunia and Lily grew apart through the pictures and letters of/from them. Very good job.

This was an interesting twist on Petunia being nice. The ring was a nice touch.

Thanks, TigerLily...I'm glad you liked it.  This was written for a challenge on LJ, and I had to figure out a way for Harry to recieve the trunk that was from Petunia, so I had to give her some redeeming qualities.  I thought it  worked overall.

This is very different from the usual H/G stories I have read. Very creative idea. I like the thought of Harry and Ginny married and safe, reviewing his childhood through adult eyes. Dudley is still repulsive, even just through a “poison quill” letter. I’ve not often seen a story told from Harry’s first person perspective either. It felt very different from the books. (Not in a bad way. Grin.) How wonderful for Harry to gain all those things of his mothers’. It connects him the same way the cloak and map do to his Dad and Sirius. The pictures were a nice touch. And Little Women is still a favorite book of mine. You do a wonderful job offering an explanation of Petunia’s and Vernon’s treatment of Harry while still not excusing it. A tough line to walk. It’s nice to see a content loved and loving Harry who can let go of the pain. I loved the way Harry gave Ginny the ring- the speech gave me one of my girly ‘Aww” moments- I love when an author’s story makes me happily sigh. All in all, a sweet, interesting short story, and I appreciate you taking the time to create and share with your readers. Your spelling and sentence structure were strong. My thanks to your betas as well. Please keep writing, ellie

*laughs*  Well, I know you warned me about your review at LJ, but it does seem that for whatever reason, it came out with no formatting and some odd characters.  But I could get the gist of it, and glad you liked the story. This story was born out of a LJ challenge, so that's why it is a bit of an "odd" topic.  When I got ready to write it, I decided to try the first person perspective to see if I could pull it off, and I really enjoyed doing it.  I'm glad that it made you "happily sigh". I do my best writing when I do fluff.

Lovely story! I can just imagine that letter from Dudley coming from his pen. The mallice just *drips* doesn't it?

Absolutely, Allie! I tried to make Dudley just like his father -- and then some! Esp. in light of the death of his "beloved mummy". I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for taking time to read my fiction. It had been a while since I wrote anything, so it's nice to know that people are reading it, and think I did a good job writing.

What a sweet story! I certainly hope that something like this happens in canon so that Harry has an "official" past and not one that we dabblers want him to have. You've done a marvelous job with the flow of this story, keeping the reader guessing what else of significance could be discovered in the trunk. Finally, I love the conclusion and how romantic Harry's gift to Ginny is.

Thank you Arnel for the review! I, too, hope that Harry gets an "official" past -- I'd like to know more about both set of grandparents. This story really only dealt with the Evans's side of the family -- I'd love to see what the Potter side would leave him. Hmmm...maybe I'll have to do a continuation!

Susan --

Wow! This was a nice piece. Different than I had thought it was going to be. It's always gratifying to see Harry connect with his past. Even if it's just a little bit.

Thanks Chi! I so appreciate the review. When I took the challenge for the ficafest, I smacked myself in the head and thought what have I done?!? But it came out well, and I was pleased.

Thanks for taking time to review.
