Harry will either blow everything, or find a way to pretend he is only a 12 yr old.

Hum, but I thought that there are also different sizes.
If you imagine that all wands size from 6,5 inches to 12 inches, than there would be if we say 1/3 and 1/2 and 2/3 size a lot more combinations. That the wand can have different thickness, to be flexible, adds a lot more.
Doesn't it?
You did a great job the last 3 chapters, was the first thing that I found a bit irritating. Going to read on

Nice chapter. It'll be interesting when Molly finds out Harry bought Ginny a wand, though. I don't remember her using an old one in cannon, but then I don't think we're ever really told much about her wand, anyway. You do a great job of filling in the gaps, though!

Ollivander remains a little of the disturbing side, but it was cute to see Harry and Ginny shopping together.

I read another seven chapters and I can clearly see much improvement from your original posting on FanFiction.net.

The best part was the reworking of the points-of-views of the Weasleys. The first time around their was too much repetition. The story flows much better this way.

I can't wait to read some more. I'll review again soon.

Nice bit with Godlfarb -- I'm interested to see how all that works out . Interesting idea on the wands, but those two aren't the only variables; there is at least the variable of length; and given the mention of "texture" (not the right word but I can't think of a better one right now), e.g., supple, whippy, etc, that would suggest another variable. Still you make an excellent point -- but then Rowling's story really can't be taken too seriously as its full of many such implausabilities (you've already raised the question of the tracking of under-age magic).

*grins hugely, nods sagely at everything said in the author's note, giggles at the disclaimer against disclaimers, and munches on a cookie as she gets back to reading this amazing story*

I've followed the story with interest. It's well written except for the occasional foray into teen/net speak. I can't picture Harry saying 'prezzi'. It's too American 21st century teen-talk and a jarring note to find in the middle of any otherwise well written chapter.

Er, I found 'prezzie' on a site dedicated to british slang.

I think the yanks got it from them...

What a brilliant chapter. And so long as well. Magnificent job. I loved it. Ew Harry got underwear and socks from a used clothing store...I hope they used really powerful cleaning charms. I love the Harry/Ginny bonding. It makes me so excited. I love the sound of Ginny's wand, Gryffin feather? I've never heard of that before, it sounds really interesting though and it would make total sense for wizards to be able to have all kinds of magical creatures essence in their wands. Gryffin feather also sounds like a sure sign Ginny will get into Gryffindor if you ask me. *crosses finger* Poor Harry, leg cramps hurt, the poor boy. Really brilliant job!

Er, those were packaged new. Most second-hand stores that carry such items just have new stuff to pass health code.

Yeah, I've had leg cramps before from karate. No fun whatsoever.

come on Hash, where are you coming from.touting the "turn the other cheek".?I,ve always believed that only gets you another black eye or worse.I wholly believe in Harrys form of revenge, and he is "reliving".not just 10,but 15 years of beatings and mental abuse, whereas "Tom,s" was just being shipped to an orphanage.V. don,t listen to this Hash.

No he doesn't. He owes 'her' a lot, and he's having to bite his tongue a lot to keep from saying what he really thinks about her.

but Mrs. Weasley insisted on being there to wake him once he started screaming

Yeah, future-Molly couldn't help but see how torn up Harry was... and for someone like her, the best antidote for crippling grief is to find someone else to help.

-what a strong image.

I'm gearing up for the fight scenes in the later years. Warning - I used to GM an anime-style Shadowrun campaign. I like my fight scenes, yes I do.

Eyes. Signature effect, possibly from accidental magic. Enough to make Ron a little nervous, but he also listened when Harry said he had to learn Occlumency before he could tell him everything.

Being Fred and George's little sister has to count for something.

Yeah, Ron's going through some changes all right...

Been there, done that, almost got slapped.

Not too far... they were Muggles after all. Statute of Secrecy and all. But it also complicated things, and required intermediaries.

They probably think he's a twelve year old vengeance-prodigy. Or there is some goblin blood in the Potter family tree somewhere.

Risk versus gain applies, yes. Also he'd be leaving himself open to blackmail.

Then I will have the option of seeing how long my former guardians can survive under the Cruciatus curse.”
-Any way for Dumbledore to catch wind of that statement?

That would require putting Goldfarb under the cruciatus curse. Betraying his client's confidence would be a huge black mark on his honor and his clan.

I suppose if I don’t agree you’ll ‘accidentally’ break my wand too?” she said tartly.
-Has she been communicating with Hermione? Of course, she could have figured that out on her own.

Ron has an old wand that suddenly get broken at the end of the year. Harry buys her a wand and gives her a big lecture about how important it is to have one that is attuned... not that hard for her to put together, is it?

Whatever it is, I doubt it'll be easy.

Just you wait!

More is coming!

And yes, yes it will be...
