A/N: A big thank you to OHGinnyfan for glancing over this as well as inspiring me with her H/G Twelve Days of Christmas. This happens to be my first foray into the new (as least to me) world of H/G poetry.
Oh why did I stand
under the mistletoe?
How it got there.
I don't even know.
I'm sure the twins
are the ones to blame
though kissing Harry
wasn't a total shame.
I was headed to get
a steaming hot mug
when both of us passed
and I felt a small tug.
The tug I felt
was of the magical sort,
but then I looked up
and heard someone snort.
A tradition I loved
but now could hate
was waiting for me
to seal my fate.
The smile he gave me
was a nervous one,
as we both leaned forward
in perfect unison.
The warmth of his lips
did startle me so,
but I knew I didn't
want him to let go.
The moment it seemed
passed all too fast
when all I wanted
was for it to last.
But his eyes lingered
on my lips still.
And all I could feel
was the rise of a thrill.
It was then I knew
that I had a chance.
This thought alone
made me want to dance.
As the mood was broken
never to return,
I saw in his eyes
the desire, the burn.
But the feeling will come,
I will have it again.
For I feel he wants
to be more than a friend.
Next time it happens,
there won't be a spell.
It will just happen.
I know it; I can tell.
