That was very nice.  I loved the M&Ms.  I thought that the 'clueless' Ginny was a good addition as well.  Good job.

What a sweet, adorable story!   First, I totally agree with you that Ginny said she "chose" Dean just to get on Ron's nerve; Second, I just realize that the so-called aphrodisiac M&Ms and Harry's eyes are ... green. Good job!

Lovely story, but a shame you had to use an american sweet when there is a British alternative which would have made the story more authentic without screaming 'american!'.

Very fun story - loved how Harry was saving up the green ones for Ginny.  Purely by chance, a British friend and I were talking about the myth of green smarties (which are very similar to your M&Ms) and their extra 'properties' recently.  So it must be almost universal *grin*

Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:00The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

Well, as I am American, and had never heard of Smarties, I wrote it from my own knowlege.  I did have a friend who is from the UK beta the story for me.  She told me about Smarties, but said she did not know of any attached myth that would have made the story work.  Many of my other reviewers have said that the green Smarties carry the same urban legend as the green M&M.  I guess it just depends on who you ask.

Thanks for your review, and I'm glad you liked the story.

Awww...that was v. adorable.  I'd never heard that myth about the green M&M's, but it fit into the story quite well, regardless.

Thank you for taking the time to review my story.  I'm glad you liked it.  It is pretty amazing the number of people who have not heard of the myth of the green m&m.  Are you from the USA or not.  I know the people who betaed for me from the UK had not heard of the myth.

This last little part is for everyone else who reviewed the story.  I am heading to the airport in about half an hour and will be on vacation for a week.  I will respond to your reviews when I get back.  Thank you to all of you for reading and reviewing the story.

I loved that one!  Before the "secret" of the candy was revealed, I wondered if it was the green ones he was sorting out!

Also, love how the green ones match their eyes so perfectly!

I never did see the tie in to the color of Harry's eyes until you mentioned it.  Amazing what people connections people see.

Thanks for taking the time to tell me what you thought.

That was so fluffy. Poor Harry fancies Ginny for weeks and dare not approach her. If Hermione were not there, Harry will certainly be a lost cause.

He certainly would have had to give her a little bit bigger clue than he did.  Thank Merlin for Hermione.  It pays to be best friends with the most brilliant witch in the school.

Glad you liked it and thanks for your review.

yummy... this is a gourgeously sweet little fic. Harry is just so completely... Harry (not that there is anything wrong with any of the others either) He's clueless and terribly transparent in love and this is portrayed perfectly. A gloriously creative way to get them together.

Definitely Short 'n Sweet :). I really like the M&M's idea, very funny. And of course Hermione had to be the one to figure it out ;).

Yeah, it had to be Hermione.  The girl is just to smart for her own good.

This was a beautifully crafted story.  The use of the green M&Ms was inspired, and I thought Harry's character was perfectly written.  It was a great combination of crafty and shy.  Hermione's help was priceless and obviously just what he needed.  Great job!
Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:13The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

Thank you.  the main part of the challange was to work the sharing of a sweet, muggle or magical, into the story.  The more characters in your story, who shared the sweet, the better.  My wife and I joke about the green M&Ms all the time, so it was an easy thing to decide to use them in the story.  It pretty much just wrote itself.

That was lovely. Definitely short, definitely sweet. WAFF all around! I hadn't heard the myth about green M&Ms, but it fits, green being Harry's eye color too. Love the kiss. This one has my vote!

Good work.

Oh,  you do write fluff well.  I think this one is my favorite.  I've never heard that green M&Ms are an aphrodisiac--I thought it might be to remind her of Harry's eyes at first--but it was a great premise for telling Ginny that something was up.  Very, very nice!

Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:27The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

Glad it was your favorite, and you think that I did a good job.  Thank you for that.  The myth is true and I thought it was a perfect way for Harry to try and tell Ginny he fancied her.

Thanks for your vote.

Wonderful story, I loved the Urban Myth about the green M & M's! Hermione was fantastic as the girl to give Ginny a push in the right direction! Glad to see she and Ron are enjoying studying together! Lovely writing style too!

You gotta love those green M&Ms!  Very sweet story - I knew a girl in high school that tried a similar trick with a guy that she liked.  It worked for her, too.

What a delightful story!  I heard the legend about the green M&M’s a long time ago and had forgotten about it.  Your story incorporates the legend beautifully.  I think my favorite part was the mysterious was Harry was squirreling away the green ones and saving them for Ginny.  Leave it to Hermione to finally clue her in!  I really enjoyed reading your story.

Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:32The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

I'm glad you like the story and felt it was a good way to use the legend of the green M&M.  The whole key to it was Harry saving them for her and not letting anyone else have them.

Thanks for your review.  It was much appreciated.

Yay, Hermione!  Woo Hoo!  I must admit, I almost bailed when I read that Ginny had  been taking him to task for his behavior.  I'm on strike from fics that have Ginny beating Harry up for grieving, lol, but this one didn't really go there, and I was delighted.

I liked Hermione trying to contain her giggles over the green M&Ms.  You tricked us!  You didn't mention the color when you said he was making a special pile.  I liked Hermione's determination to help them out as well, and I really enjoyed the line about the light fading from Harry's eyes when Ginny declined a walk.  Very enjoyable.  I liked it.

Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:42The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

Considering how much time I have spent reading and reviewing your stories, this is a review that really makes me feel good.

I understand what you mean about the Ginny taking Harry to task stories.  There are a lot of them.  I did not have the words available to go to far into how their relationship developed over the summer.  In my mind, I see one really big fight at the begining, and after that Harry simply allows her to be near him and she always seeks him out.  I see her telling him off as more of a gentle prodding that he is being a git.  I don't see a bunch of knock down drag out fights between them.

I didn't trick you, I hid something and held back a little of the story for later.  You can't give everything away in the first paragraph.  Of course you know that as you Luna?  Those were brilliant clues on your part by the way.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the review.

Wednesday 6th July 2005 21:44The Magic of Muggle Sweets (Author Response)

They are dangerous.  you can end up with a boyfriend or girlfriend before you know it, and if that isn't bad enough, they can make you fat.
