Wow. Brilliant use of that song!!! this piece is so well crafted! I particularly love how you wove the lyrics in and made them apply equally well to both Harry's and Ginny's feelings. This is so poignant. You found a way to let Ginny still be firey and brave staying behind. You portray her as fierce and devoted, yet not at all submissive, which is a very delicate line to walk in this situation. Great work.

| Man, that is so right! I mean, this is exactly how I think Ginny and Harry are feeling at this point in the story. Those letters to each other were perfect in every way - showing honesty and understanding and how well they do actually know each other. This chapter brought a tear to my eye, as well as relief at reading something that I think is just so postively RIGHT. I like the way you had Harry sharing in the letter something of his last night with Dumbledore, and also the dancing under the stars and looking for the answers - it shows me that Harry does trust Ginny, and does actually share everything with her, except for the one Horcrux secret, which he feels is not his to tell. Great chapter. |

You and I are of the same mind then, I think. I really do think that Ginny is the only one who truly understands Harry, and as such, is the only one who will accept that he has to face the final battle alone. But, of course, I'm just theorizing. |

| occlumens, you have a real knack for writing out emotions. You characterize Harry and Ginny beautifully ... and I was really struck by the perfection of Hermione's meddling as well. Even Ron was spot-on ... butting in with his redheaded temper and brotherly love and protection. You could just feel the angst in the air in this chapter. My goal with this was to write a fic where Ginny didn't go chasing after Harry. I've had many an argument with friends over whether Ginny will stay at Hogwarts or not. I hope she does, so I wanted to see if I could make it work. I'm glad you like it.
