How long had you been writing fan fiction when this story came out? It's a great plot, and a touch of angst, but I can tell that there isn't depth in it. I bet if you re-wrote this story today, it would be even better than it is now.
I hope this didn't come out cruel, I really love the story, and you're a great fan fiction writer. |

Thanks for reading and for reviewing like this. This (together with The Squib) was my first properly published fic. I'd had a few things on my LJ and on the fluff thread at the Sugar Quill, but this was the first proper story that I put together with the intention of other people reading it.
I'd written fanfiction (not HP) for years, but only ever for my own enjoyment so I could let it be as rambling and pointless as I liked. Then I started reading some of the stuff on the internet about a year ago and began to think that maybe I could do better. Then I read some of the really great fanfiction and knew that I couldn't do better than that!
Anyway, one of the reasons for taking the step into publishing fic was to try to improve as a writer. So I'm glad you can see the difference between this and Long Love's Day, which I think is the best thing I've written (though I have a real soft spot for the characters and setting of The Squib, which is still WIP).
And I hope you'll keep reading this fluffy nonsense anyway! |

| Thanks. I'd had enough of 'Lily-hates-James-they-fight-all-the-time' fics so I thought I'd try and write something where they just grow up a bit and that's enough to change things between them. It's all written so it should be updating pretty regularly. |
