beautifull, and the end is funny will Hermione and Ron marry soon after all?
Monday 25th June 2007 09:59The Right Choice (Author Response)
I don't believe they will get married in the near future. Poor Mrs Weasley, and poor Ron and Hermione... I'm afraid Ron will have a couple of rows with his mother

So glad you liked it.

A very good proposal story. Of course Molly would jump to the wrong conclusion at an inopportune time. That just adds to the fun. Very well done. Thanks for writing. p

I've just read the rest of your stories, and like all of them, but I just couldn't not to review on this one.

I love the way you wrote conversations. They sound very real and natural, and despite it being the biggest part you avoided making it "ready-to-play-on-the-scene" kind of drama. Lovely work

Haha! I love the part at the end, with Molly "discovering" their "secret"! So funny! And I like the names of the jewellers, too. It's pretty.

Good job and can't wait for more.

Oh, that was really fun! I just adored both of the shopping expeditions because it is exactly the way I shop when I’m out with my hubby. Ron and Ginny perfectly illustrated the Hunter/Gatherer theory of shopping (to which my hubby subscribes): men are hunters – they go to the shops, ‘spear’ the first item they see and bring it home triumphant; women are gatherers – they visit every single shop and examine every possible item, gather all the pertinent information (price, quality, suitability, etc etc) before making their selection. Of course, Ginny also had a subconscious agenda working! But even Hermione and Harry fit the mould:

Taking Hermione with him had been a bad idea, Harry realised too late. But it could not be helped now.

"I didn't like any of the jewellery displayed here," he lied. To be honest, some things had looked rather nice, but The Ring was what he wanted, nothing else.

"But there are very pretty rings here," Hermione said. "And there is more inside."

I really enjoyed the girls’ conversation, Hermione being so matter-of-fact and Ginny challenging her every statement. And I just loved Ron’s un-proposal – hilarious! In fact, I think you do conversations really, really well. I feel like quoting the whole thing back at you. Great story.

Hunter/Gatherer theory - I like the sound of that; suffered from it often enough. So there are more people who feel like Ginny, Hermione and me

Conversations -yes, I find them a lot easier to write than other things... I'm really glad you liked it!

Oh and I laughed when I read about you naming the jewellers after the ones in your home town. I did exactly the same. And no, I'm not telling you in which fic and who.

I liked this a lot. I envy the way you make your characters develop so naturally during this series of interactions so that where they end up seems so entirely right for them all. And I definitely think H/G much more likely to marry young. They're both fairly simple people with a straightforward attitude to their relationship. Unlike R/Hr who, if they end up together at all as adults, will need to do a whole lot of growing up and working things out and settling down. IMHO!

That's why I like R&H - they're so wonderfully complicated...

Oh, I hoped I'd be able to do that. Thanks so much

Snort! Okay, this was an entirely enjoyable read. My favorite part? - Harry trying to size Ginny's finger while she's sleeping and her cracking an eye and telling him what he needed to know. Hee! That's my girl!

I could totally see each of the couples feeling this way. Harry, in particular, I think will want to marry young. Hermione's view on Muggles, however, well, I found it rather dismal. I think I like the wizarding way better. The only thing left that I still would have liked to see was the twins making Percy suffer a bit. I also liked the idea of Hermione becoming a clean freak, lol. I could SO see that, but I wonder if Harry would grimace thinking of Aunt Petunia.

Ooh, you picked my favourite scene!

Hermione's view is rather dismal, yes, but I think she's always very decided in her opinions, and things tend to come out mush harsher than she means them.

The twins and Percy... That's an idea. I admit, though, that I didn't want Percy's part to become too long so I could focus on the two couples. Well, since I didn't write it, I'd be happy to read someone else's version on that

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review.

Very sweet! I would have thought the opposite would be true (Harry and Ginny not wanting to stick with tradition), but this worked out really well instead. Well done!

To be honest, Harry and Ginny even surprised me a bit... Thanks for reviewing!
