I really really hope you write a sequel to this! I've been saying it all along but I'll happily say it again this story is awesome! I love James and Lily fics and this is one of the best I've read!

Thanks for all your reviews - you've had a busy day! I do think that James and Lily must have been quite mature 17 year olds - partly because of the war, and partly because we know they marry so young. That's what I wanted to show in this story: a plausible progression from the relationship they had when they were 15 to where they must have been by the time they were 18 and 19.

I'm not sure that there'll ever be the projected sequel. I'm writing other things now and I never seemed to have the inspiration for it. I do have two other J/L stories you might enjoy: Love's Long Day and Long Love's Day, both here at PS. They're set on Valentine's Day the year before HWBWEAT.

Thanks! I'm not sure that the third one is ever going to be written. I just can't quite find a way into it. But you never know!

Well, um, James and Lily get married and a couple of years later they have a baby called Harry...

I don't know when or if I'll get round to the third part of this, sorry. But I'm glad you liked it.

Ah... the jeweller's shop. Nice name.

I loved the Pride and Prejudice parallels, and the rest of the story, too - of course! I'll say it again: the way you write JK's characters makes them come alive, they're like real people with all their virtues and faults.

I'll be waiting for the third part, now that I've finished reading all your stuff. Pity.

Glad you liked it. I don't seem to have any problem writing characters with flaws!

The next chapter of The Squib is with my beta and I'll try to keep updating that a bit more regularly than I have recently.

There are also a few bits and pieces on my LJ that you might enjoy. girlyswot.livejournal.com if you're interested.

Thanks for being such a constant and encouraging reviewer. And you never know, one day I might write that third part!

Not yet. It's possible that there may be in the future, but not any time very soon. Sorry. I'm glad you enjoyed this one though (did you also check out the prequel 'Had we but world enough and time' and the Valentine's oneshot, 'Long Love's Day'? They might keep you going for a bit!

I'm reviewing for the entire story.

It's wonderful.

But, oh, I just wish it wasnt so short. It's so unbearably short. I'd love to read a story like this, and have it so long I get to read on and on and on and on.... *sigh* Some things are just too good to last.

Brilliant story. But again, way too short.
So looking forward to a sequel.

Thanks so much. Did you read the story that comes before this in the series - Had we but world enough and time? I don't know when I'll get to the sequel, I'm afraid. I'm glad you enjoyed reading and thanks for leaving a review.

This was a very wonderful Lily and James story. You did an excellent job pulling me into your LJ universe. I loved how they grew in love with one another. Even in the beginning stages of war, they were able to find love, understanding, and hope. So wonderful.
So, are you going to write a part three? I saw where you said you would but I'm not sure if you are or not. I think if you did, it would be even more great than what you've already produced. I see the progression in your writing. Great job!
Keep up the good work

Thank you so much for reading right through to the end - I'm glad you liked my James and Lily. I'm pretty fond of them too!

I'm not sure about part three. It was originally planned to take them through to their wedding. I'm not going to write baby Harry or Oct 31st. But just at the moment I want to write the parallel to Long Love's Day and really get to grips with The Squib, which needs some serious plot untangling! Maybe when I've got a bit more time - I do enjoy writing L/J, so don't give up hope.

And thanks for all your encouragement. I'm so glad you can see development in my writing - that makes it all worthwhile.

Aww...I love the bittersweetness we got this time. I can\'t think of much else except to congradulate you on finishing part two! I really can\'t wait for part three to show up; it should surpass even this segment, I\'m sure! So get crackin on that last section...I\'m going to miss these regular updates!

Again, wonderful! Keep up the fine writing. You do Lily/James so well. You can capture their hope for the future and happiness without putting in all the darkness and foreshadowing of their gruesome ends... Very impressive!

Thanks so much for your encouraging comments. I'm so glad you like my Lily and James. I don't think that they would have had any sense of doom at this stage of their lives and I wanted to try and tell their story from their point of view as normal teenagers, growing up and falling in love.

I don't know when or if the next part will come, but I hope you'll keep reading my other stories.

How amazingly fitting the Pride and Prejudice reference is. It has been a pleasure reading these first two sections of this piece. I hope I get to see a third. Very well done, girlyswot!

I loved this chapter but how could I not with James doing his Mr Darcy bit? Lily's ring sounds spectacular.

I await another segment of their story. Just because we know the journey's end doesn't mean we can't enjoy what happens on the way there.

I'm glad you enjoyed the P&P reference. And I loved writing the section in the jeweller's. There is a small jewellery shop in my home town called M. Orzel's on which this one is (loosely!) based.

I don't know when or if I'll write part three. The plan was never to get to 'journey's end' but just to their wedding day - I can't write the sort of action needed for October 31st and I don't specially want to write Harry as a baby. I'll leave that for you!
