Aww poor Ginny - what a way to end the funeral...no Harry and then the Minister questioning her...very eventful.
I like how you incorporated the use of the mermaid right before the centaurs arrived - very well done

I LOVE how you capture the essence of Ginny like when she says
"Harry taught me something, and that’s what I’ll tell you about him. He isn’t afraid of a name, and neither am I, whether it’s Voldemort or Scrimgeour.” I can hear the difiance in her voice in my head and see her eyes blazing. She is the only girl worthy of Harry and is his equal in EVERY way. I wonder if J.K knows of your work....I think she'd love it God knows we all do !!! I am so glad you found LEO! It's good to get reviews from you again. I agree so much that Ginny and Harry are made for each other, soul mates, etc. Even in canon, Ginny stays true to Harry after the "breakup" when she gives him his birthday kiss. And to me that kiss was the most intimate thing that happened to anyone in all seven books.

| This is a sad time for Ginny but this was quite a different point of view of what happened when Harry walked away from Ginny after the funeral of Dumbledore. I really like the Mermaid and the Centaurs helping Ginny to get away from Scrimgeour. That was great. I am so glad one of them told her Fireze was their father. Thank you for the begining of a great story. |

Hey, Patches. I missed this review before I responded to your one for chapter two.
In canon, we see absolutely nothing of Ginny after Harry walks away until he shows up at the Burrow six or seven weeks later, and, to my surprise, in DH they were right away holding hands and Ginny was giving him the kiss of true love. It kinda didn't compute, even though as an over-the-top H/G shipper I was delighted with it. But nothing was said about Harry's decision to dump her.
And then at the end of DH, Ginny comes back to Hogwarts and Harry treats her like a baby. But you know what I thought of that after reading the first two chapters of The Hog's Head, right?
I first had the idea of magical creatures treating Ginny differently because of her importance to Harry, in my first fic, The Long Walk. It's kind of like they are honoring her because it's her love that will help Harry defeat Voldemort.

Hmm, this one seems to be interesting though I´m generally not very fond of pre-DH fanfics. And the title is rather depressing.
I hope the one DH thing you got completely right is Voldemort leaving this world for good!

Thank you, OD! The story is about 100,000 words in 19 chapters. It will be updated as fast as my excellent can get to it.
I understand your feelings about pre-DH fics. You have to completely forget everything you know from DH. The thing you mentioned about being right is not what I was thinking about, but a relatively minor but significant detail in chapter 16. So you'll just have to wait.
And you should know me by now, that in my fics Ginny and Harry are eternally in love.

Thanks! It's much shorter than The Hog's Head, only about 100K words in nineteen chapters (as opposed to almost 400K in 54 chapters for HH).

| I love the part where the centaurs stand their ground between Scrimgeour and Ginny. The centaurs always seem basically noble to me, and I can't help their general disgust with human behavior. The mermaid is a very nice touch, although we're kind of left hanging as to what Percy wanted to ask. We have to assume that the lacky was to find out what he could about Harry's plans. |
