Some random thought led me to reread this tonight (and crazy-o'clock in the morning) and bawl my eyes out. :sigh: I still adore this fic. It's one of those stories that sticks with a person. |
Ashley06 Friday 30th December 2005 00:07 | Best of Wine |
Aww that is sweet. |
SillyGillie Tuesday 18th October 2005 18:26 | Best of Wine |
Aw what a bittersweet ending. Harry *sigh* always so caring and loyal. What a guy! Haha |
Pirate Ginny Monday 17th October 2005 12:11 | Best of Wine |
Oh. Wow.
I'm still coming up from that deep, comatose reading state that
you led me into. This is one of those pieces that
transports a person. Mmm. So many wonderful moments.
Not sure what I like best: Ginny, drunk at the table; the dancing; or
that little interlude on the Knight Bus. Hm. Or, well, all
of it. :shamelessly fangirls: The angst was perfect - i had
a lump in my throat the moment Harry's speech ended, and the lump never
quite went away.

Thanks so much for that. That was a gorgeous review to get - like a very unexpected present. |

Oh my gosh! You have to write more! They never got together! Not really. I was all into-it and then it stopped! Ha, ha. Sorry, but I think some sort of sequel is definitely in order! |

Ohhh, this is wonderful! PLEASE, I'd love a sequel! Best fluff I've had all month! |
jeanne Thursday 30th June 2005 13:16 | Best of Wine |
Glad I wasn,t the only one hoping for a sequel. As for being sober to say the 3 little words,I have always been told that liquor only relaxes inhibitions and inebriated folks say what they wish they could say sober,so they just each had a dose of courage given to them.I can just see a 2nd. chap. filled with them apologizing and humming and hawing all over the place, being them. |
jeanne Thursday 30th June 2005 13:07 | Best of Wine |
And now like good little readers we have to make up our own ending, and I know what mine will be. This is a one shot that is a perfect prequel to a lovely fluffy fic. Loved it,and thank-you,for it,jeanne. |

I really liked this one. It's sweet, and it made me ache for Ginny especially. I know writers don't usually like to hear that there should be another chapter - and I think it is great right now - but I can really see it as a further developed story. I like it as it is, but I feel like you should write more stories; I've loved this and another of your H/G fics. Keep it up! |

Wow.
Champagne can do some crazy things.
I just didn't see Gin getting so sloshed. But then, weddings are prime openings for people who don't dring to get hammered. Heh.
Good work. |

*sigh* slighly sad in parts, but amusing and fun. This was quite cute. I think it would be very entertaining if you did a companion piece of Ginny waking up to find Harry asleep on her couch. ...better yet, someone else coming in. An amusing but sweet continuation would make this charming little piece even better (if that were possible). |
Bring and Fly Saturday 30th April 2005 10:28 | Best of Wine |
Each time I read this it just gets better and I admire the skill with which you take us through the emotions everyone shows. You take us inside the characters and have us feel what they're feeling with such clear descriptions of their behaviour that I feel as though I have my nose pressed to the window and am watching them.
The whole gamut of emotion is here; you have me laughing out loud one minute -as Harry embarrasses Ron- and give me a lump in my throat the next - Ginny sitting wistful and alone with an empty glass- and leave me with a warm and hopeful spark in my heart at the finale.
Altogether stupendous, Antonia!! |

I'm so glad you liked the story. At the moment, this is a
one-shot, although I have other H/G fics which will be up soon. A
sequel may follow.
Thanks for reviewing.

the sequel for this might take a while. Thanks for reviewing!

So lovely Antonia... and you know, this could tie in with my fic-a-fest story, and I can't believe that didn't occur to me until now
I love the palpable emotion of this story. The pining and the awkwardness is so reminiscent of Canon Harry and Ginny that it blows me away. The ending is both endearing and frustrating and you already know how I feel about the cheek to the stomach image.
The dialogue is also humourous and heartwarming which is very clever of you considering the aforementioned pining and awkwardness. If I had to pick a favourite story of yours (and please don't make me, I really don't think I could! ) this would be it.
Looking forward to a sequel (quite desperately, if you must know)...

It could tie in, true! That's assuming this Harry and Ginny do get together in the end.
You know my feelings about this review. It is one of the nicest
reviews I've received, and I needed that this week. You're
awesome, thank you.
As for a sequal ... I keep thinking about it. Which is bad as it
must not be written until after my exams. Which finish in twenty
three days and start in fifteen.
*yelps*

It's very well written, awkwardly embarrassing to read, and for undergoing that pain I expected a more ... definite end! |

Thank you ... I think! I hope you enjoyed the story despite the
embarrassment and pain. Not all endings are definite ... at least
not yet.

Arnel Thursday 28th April 2005 23:59 | Best of Wine |
Great story...I hope the two of them are able to say those three little words to each other when they're sobered up! Goodness knows they deserve to be together after all the pining for each other they did at the wedding. Harry's speech about Ron was worth smiling over and suitably embarrassing...just as such speeches should be. Thanks for sharing this very enjoyable story. |
Friday 29th April 2005 02:37 | Best of Wine (Author Response) |
Thank you!
Yes, I hope they manage it as well ....
I'm really glad you liked the speech and that it sounded right.
Thanks for reviewing. |

A great-great-great aunt, eh? Sounds reminiscent of a St. Margaret's story...Lol. Well done. What would a Weasley wedding be without at least one drunk couple? Charming yet believable, and I love champagne too!

Friday 29th April 2005 02:34 | Best of Wine (Author Response) |
Heh. I'd written this before I read St Margaret's story, but I think Ginny does deserve an Aunt Martha who'll have some sympathy for the only girl.
Champagne is good. And sometimes too good!
Thanks for reviewing. |
p0tterfan Thursday 28th April 2005 20:36 | Best of Wine |
You're not gonna end it here are you?
If you are ... it was still nicely done. Although I would hope by
the time Ron/Hermione got together H/G would have figured things out
... Harry was a bit quicker than Ron on the uptake :)
|
Friday 29th April 2005 02:30 | Best of Wine (Author Response) |
Harry was quick on the uptake, but he hasn't acted on it - he thinks he's missed his chance with Ginny.
There's a prequel for this story coming up - but there may be a sequel later.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing. |
tante Thursday 28th April 2005 20:15 | Best of Wine |
I still like this piece very much! Ginny's feelings I can identify with beautifully. And, strangely, just as you let happen between them at the end, when you let go of the worry and ache everything starts to come together. Great Work!
